Coulthard Shim’s core business is to provide our clients with sound, efficient and economical structural and civil engineering design solutions.

Working closely in conjunction with our design and construction partners we will provide you with our technical expertise and experience from the beginning stages of conceptual design right up to construction and ultimately certification for the purpose of building permit applications.

Our structural design engineers are experienced in the design and use of various types of building materials and methods of construction from the design of timber and masonry framed residential construction to reinforced concrete low-rise apartment residences and commercial buildings with basement car parks and industrial tilt-up, pre-cast concrete panels and steel structures to aluminium maintenance platforms.

The services we offer can be packaged in many ways to include all disciplines providing you with structural and civil engineering design along with a soil report for your project creating more value and saving you time and effort by reducing the hassle of having to coordinate between different consultants from different firms.

Our civil engineering design services include drainage system designs for residential and commercial developments including storm water detention systems and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD).

Site investigation reports or soil reports are among many of the services we provide and are done in-house for use in our projects.

Other services we provide include building investigations and inspections during construction to check for compliance with design.
